To unite all the companies that it has managed in Congo since 1974, the Belgian group ORGAMAN has established a unique collective agreement which enables the different companies practices to be equitably harmonized and to foster the Group spirit among the 1,650 employees.
Born from the merger of several companies in the field of food and frozen products, ORGAMAN Group aims to ensure the integration of the nine companies currently contributing to the social purpose of the company: production and marketing of frozen products.
After negotiations between 9 unions, ORGAMAN has developed a single company collective agreement, which provides for regular meetings on staff movements, payment of contributions, changes in product prices, the main strategic and financial lines of the company. At the same time, ORGAMAN called on an external consultant to standardize the classification of jobs and reduce any discrimination, a mission validated by all social partners.
The permanent social dialogue, the employees' involvement in social life and the transparency on the company operations have allow to create a climate of trust and to make employees actors involved in the successes and difficulties of the company. Since 1974, ORGAMAN has had to manage only one strike movement lasting a week.
The unique collective agreement of the ORGAMAN group, leader in its sector of activity in Congo, serves as a reference in solving problems for other companies in the country.
